Five stages, from the iron-on sticker to the finished waistband.
Place the front piece (1) on a flat surface. Important! The space where we will attach the iron-on sticker is flat and without creases.
Mark the location of the iron-on sticker on the front piece. First, you need to mark the center, and then the sides. Use pins or disappearing chalk. Align the notches with a ruler to accurately mark the middle of our sweatshirt. Mark the center and see if you like it and then mark the sides.
After chalking, place the sticker with the paper facing up, and the print itself facing down towards the product.
Press the sticker with an iron WITHOUT USING STEAM for a few seconds. It is important that if the sticker surface is not paper, but film, cover such sticker with a sheet of white paper. Check that everything is even.
Next, press hard with an iron on all areas of the sticker for 10–15 seconds.
Let it cool for a few minutes.
Remove the sticker. Important! Do not iron the sticker itself, only its back side.
Place the front (1) on the back (2) face to face and baste the shoulder seams. Iron press the seam allowances onto the back.
Iron the neck band (4) lengthwise and in half with the wrong side inward.
Sew the neck band into a ring face inward. Iron the seam allowances apart.
Place the neck band with the seam to the left shoulder seam, face to face with the neckline of the sweatshirt, and stitch.
Iron the seam allowances onto the garment.
Stitch the twill tape onto the back neckline. We recommend decating it first. The length of the twill tape is equal to the length of the back neckline from the shoulder seams plus 2 cm (¾″) for turning in the allowances.
Fold the allowances of the twill tape (1 cm / 3⁄8″ on each side) to the wrong side and stitch its upper edge to the allowance of the back neckline.
Stitch the lower edge all the way along the back piece. Iron.
Stitch the sleeve (3) into the open armhole. To do this, fold the sleeve cap with the armhole of the sweatshirt face to face and baste. Iron the seam allowances onto the sweatshirt.
Fold the sweatshirt face inward and sew the sleeve and side seam in one seam. Iron press the seam allowances onto the back.
Iron the cuffs (5) lengthwise and in half with the wrong side inward.
Stitch the cuffs into a ring face inward. Iron press the seam allowances apart.
Insert the cuff into the sleeve face to face and stitch in. Iron the allowances onto the sleeves.
Place the front waistband (6) on the back waistband (7) and sew the side seams, ironing the allowances.
Iron along and in half with the wrong side inward.
Fold the waistband with the bottom of the sweatshirt face to face and sew, gathering the bottom. Iron press the allowances onto the product.
Iron the finished sweatshirt.
